The Mojave River The Mojave River and its Watershed. The Mojave River is approximately miles long and flows throughout the Mojave Desert and eastern San Bernardino Mountains of San Bernardino County, California. It's unique as its water runs upside down and backward – underground and inland. As a part of this work we are doing oversight of the USGS model of the Death Valley flow system. This paper is a brief summary of our work sponsored by the National Park Service for a quantitative appraisal of the ground-water flow to Death Valley from the California basins. Hydrologic analysis of Mojave River basin, California using.
Factor analysis is applied to results of chemical analyses of water samples from wells in the Upper and Middle Mojave River valley, San Bernardino County, California. Chemical analyses showed that there are three principal chemical types of water, calcium bicarbonate, sodium sulfate, and sodium chloride, as well as many mixtures of the by: Flow-path and time-of-travel results for the Mojave River ground-water basin, southern California, calculated using the ground-water flow model MODFLOW and particle-tracking model MODPATH were similar to flow path and time-of-travel interpretations derived from delta-deuterium and carbon data. Model and isotopic data both show short flow paths and young . USGS Water Resources Links for: - Mojave Major USGS Links.
